It’s hard to quantify, but you know it when you feel it.

Most people don’t know how much their $hit stinks, but it can become abundantly clear in as little as a minute of conversation through words, actions, gestures, and the empty feeling you have from engaging. It Is hard to quantify, but you know it when you feel it.
My advice is to take notice, file it, and know that the only thing you have is your integrity and value system, and not everyone’s values are the same as yours.
If you see, hear, or feel something that doesn’t appear suitable to you, you can ask clarifying questions (call out the BS in a clear and concrete way). But know that many people will see this as confrontation and might get uncomfortable, which can say a lot about a person’s awareness or capacity to collaborate and truly partner.
You can choose to walk away when something doesn’t feel right. But if you don’t, you should be open to the possibility that what you felt in your gut may materialize. Wishing it away is not a good game plan.
