On Radical Candor

Many people don’t understand or appreciate my “radical candor” because they are unaware of what I am doing and why I do it.
As a coach, consultant, professor, & dad, I see it as my role to raise awareness or “connect dots” to help people become aware of blind spots that they may never see.
I see avoidance or passive-aggressiveness as more offensive than confronting an issue head-on and in the moment.
My goal professionally and personally is not to make people feel comfortable or play it safe.
And If you see me playing it safe, that probably means I have made a deliberate decision to do so based on what I see or don’t see in the people I am engaging with or the situation at hand.
